The 51308 is an axial deep groove ball bearing designed to support axial loads in one direction only. It consists of a shaft ring, housing ring, and ball and cage assembly. This bearing has an open design and is suitable for high rotational speed applications where axial load support is required.

Single direction thrust ball bearings are not designed to support radial loads. They are used to locate a shaft axially in one direction. The shaft ring is mounted on the shaft and rotates with it, while the housing ring has a slightly larger bore diameter to allow shaft clearance.

This bearing has a flat seat and cannot compensate for misalignment between the shaft and housing. Since thrust ball bearings are separable, the components can be mounted individually, but care must be taken not to mix up the shaft ring and housing ring during assembly.
