The 11590/11520 National is a single-row tapered roller bearing, named for the tapered rollers situated between its inner and outer rings. The raceways have a conical shape, providing these bearings with the ability to handle combined loads, including high radial and axial loads (in one direction). The greater the contact angle, the higher the axial load capacity.

The 11590/11520 National comprises a cup and cone assembly. The cone unit contains an inner ring with a cage and roller set, while the cup is the outer ring. These single-row tapered roller bearings feature an open design. They must be installed in a mirror-image arrangement with a second tapered roller bearing due to their internal structure. Paired bearing sets can be configured in X, O, or tandem arrangements.
